Log Ons
When we log onto a Mac, us students are required to log into our specific tutor group; 'mediae'. This particular log in programme is created so our class can keep all of our work together, and organised into a specific log on. The mac which we choose to place our work, however, is the only Mac that our work will be available on. This is a positive as it allows us to access our work whenever necessary, and has a lot more storage space for bigger projects. A negative of this, however, is that if that particular Mac was to break, the only place our footage would be stored is on an SD Card.
SD Card Files & Where Projects + Files are Stored & Renaming
When loading an SD Card onto a Mac, it is required of us that we copy a particular folder across to a new folder. The new folder must be the names of the students in that particular project group.
The folder that we must copy across is the folder called 'PRIVATE'. Once created, this folder needs to be renamed under the date of which the footage was taken and then this folder can be deleted off your SD Card if that's what you desire
.
Setting Up Projects
To set up a moving image production project, you must open Adobe Premier Pro. You must then set up the program so the settings are correct to how you desire to use it. Every time you wish to open a file that is located in a specific place, the computer uses something called a 'pathway.' This helps the device to located the file you wish to access. If this file is moved, the device will find it impossible to locate the file and so you will have to create a new pathway for it to access.
Above is the pathway used to locate any file in the Guy, Lauren, Lucia folder.

Gooid but you need to discuss how you organise your files in bins and how they relate to the actual files on the hard drive.
ReplyDeleteMuch better and clearly merit now.
